A few weeks, but my original Fluval protein skimmer mini PS2 was actually delivered inoperable. So I still ran everything else but protein skimmer for almost two weeks, my coralife skimmer is working I can see bubbles etc in top of it
If its only been a few weeks then I would say its the tank uglies, we all go thru it. You can start to add a small CuC, but it will eventually go away by itself. Its just the tank going thru its phases. It happens to all of us.
Not really sure of the bubbles. They probably are not an issue, but just not sure. Personally I wouldn't run the skimmer yet as you have no load in the tank yet.
