I got a few critters for the tank. Banded Serpent star and 3 blue legged hermits. Got them from the local LFS cause I couldn't keep looking at an empty tank. :p Plan on getting my snails, copepods and sea lettuce from Algaebarn soon.

I also left for a trip and came back to diatoms bloom! I researched extensively and am pretty sure it's diatoms, which I'm fine with. I was a little nervous it was dinos. The week before I put GFO in the media reactor to lower phosphates. Little did I know that that isn't good to put in when starting a tank and could lead to dinos. I only ran GFO for a few days and then turned off the reactor. If anyone thinks this isn't diatoms, please let me know.

@Scubajunior Love your stand! The IM30L is a dope tank, I had the AIO version ~5 years back. I love that IM is incorporating the option for sumps now.

How do you like your Prime Fuge? Got mine in the mail yesterday from the recent AI sales. Any suggestions for future spectrum setups using it?

I haven't really got to use my fuge yet. Next week I'm getting my sea lettuce and then we'll finally be able to start using it. But I set the lights to the brs recommended settings of all channels at 50%. I also got the visors that reefdudes made with VCA. Other than that they seem like good lights especially for those sale prices.

And more fish and inverts today! I got a Black-Ray Shrimp Goby, Candy Pistol Shrimp and a Blue Porcelain Crab. They haven't done anything yet, other than swim to the corners. But tomorrow I will be getting more coral. Probably a Hammer, Zoas and Ricordea.

I tried to wait a couple weeks before I bought more corals and fish but I couldn't control myself. But I will wait now before adding anything else. I have been having trouble with a slight bacterial bloom. It's not bad, just hazy. I also can't seem to bring my nitrates and phosphates up any. They are completely undetectable with my Hanna checker. I'm only worried about that because the sea lettuce doesn't seem to be doing good. But I'm sure things with work itself out. Now on to the livestock! I added a Purple Firefish, Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, Utter Choas Zoas, Marble Hammer, Frogspawn, green Zoas and more Ricordea. Tank is starting to come together!

I also finally got part of my order from Algaebarn. I got the Ultimate Refugium Package with Sea Lettuce and a Red Mangrove. I added the copepods and have been adding phytoplankton everyday.

Lovely new additions, I especially love the fire fish - such a pretty fish. Do you have a lid on this tank? Ps great job on the scape.
Yes I have a DIY mesh netting on top. I didn't want to have it but I know it's for the best. Some fish like the fly.

Long time since the last post but a good bit has happened since then. I'm going to slowing update things back up to present day. So after my last post I got an ATI ICP test to make sure everything was in check. And it pretty much was. Iodine was very low and so was my salinity. Turns out I calibrated my refractometer wrong and had my tanks salinity at almost 30ppt. So I slowly raised on my next water change.

I then had to make my weekly trip to the local fish store and of course had to buy some shiny new things :)

I ended up getting a beautiful Candy Hog fish that my wife calls Starburst. He has been a great new addition. He can be a bit territorial at times, seems like he is more aggressive when he thinks food is coming.

I also got a skunk shrimp (named Jacque). I always love how they are and he has been great and fun to handle.

Then I got some corals! I got an acan echinata, a micromussa lord, a lobo and a flower anemone.

More pictures of corals and fish. Also a weird bloom my sea lettuce did.

We have below two more flower anemones. I was really starting to like them because I never heard about them from the last time I had a tank. I love all the crazy colors they are in. I also got two more micromussas, two blastos and Sunny D zoa's. And I think that purple and green coral is a type of favia. I also got a few inverts.

The Coco worm is beautiful and I love it. But the peppermint shrimp ended up being the devil. It first killed a few aiptasia which was great! But then it went for my small quarter sized flower anemone. It killed it but I thought maybe because it's so small and the others would be fine. Nope. It then picked at my pink anemone and did enough damage that it eventually died also. So I got rid of the peppermint shrimp.

The fish I bought is a orchid dottyback. It's been a great tenant.

And finally, my sea lettuce had a bloom I think. It eventually went away but I thought I was about to have some big problems in the main tank cause it was in there some also.
