Could be, resembles torts, but growth pattern different. Yours looks pretty legit, and healthy tooI was told this is a gomezi.

RMF Red Devil Nasuta, this one I scored from @UFreefer. Phil has some killer stuff. I haven't introduced my UFreefer SnowyD, but it is the harriest acro I have seen, I believe it to be an Acro Horrida. I have only seen that species a few times in my 15 years at acros. I am old school, I can care less over names, truthfully, I can recognize a rare species and get more of a giddy feeling than a fancy tenni, like a crazy humillus or abro. Another example, like Copps Hoek. I would also love to get my hands on a gomezi too
Gomezi, Hoeksemai, and Horrida are definitely on future list as well. The Horrida polyps just have a really cool look. Who knows in a couple years I may need an all blue acro tank.I got a healthy frag of Blue Gomezi from Pieces of the Ocean (POTO) just a couple weeks ago. I'd never heard of it before. The color is unique -- a middle to light blue. Once it grows out I will plant it right next to an Oregon tort. I will be interested to see what form it takes as a colony. At 1" it aint much to look at right now. Darn patience again.
I am really enjoying your pictures; thank you. My viewing pleasure and knowledge base would me significantly enhanced if you could include names -- scientific or branded. In the beginning I was really bad at tracking what I was bringing into my grow out system. I see some of yours and say "I have that! what the heck is it?"
Do you source from hobbyists, LFS or online vendors? Or like me, a mix of all?

Hey all, I wanted to share a product I found on Google, did some research and pulled the trigger Many years ago, I used oyster eggs, it wasn't "oyster feast" but something else, over 14 yeats ago, lol.
Wanted a sps food, and want to be natural, so I will update as time goes on it's effectiveness. This am, 2 hours before lights on, I dosed about 5ml. Polyps are crazy expanded

I fed this today to the mushroom tank, they all went bananas for it. It's advertised as 1-2 micron size, so SPS should be able to feed on it Happy Thanksgiving, now let me get back to smoking this bird, lol

Dude,
When an accidental tip breaks off, I don't bother looking for the reading glasses to recover, or even think of gluing it to a plug. However, maybe I should, cause I can bring the "fire" with 1/8" "micro-frags"
For $200, you can get a "micro-colony" with 4 polyps I digress... Good luck with the flame, it's most certainly my canary coral for alk, and will not tolerate above 8.5 in my tank, given nutrient levels. This morning it looks like it's finally trying to start encrusting dead tissue, we shall see

Hi Tim,
It was more of a situation where I let mother nature do it's thing
As I saw acros settling in, I brought the throw away up into the reef. It's been moved a few times, but really, it just had the will to come back, and literally from the dead. My first photo, showing progression pics, didn't show how far gone it really was, but that was my only pic I had, but believe me, it was a goner Everything I do in sps reefing is based on observation, I spend countless hours looking over my acros, and based on my experience and observations I make the best choices and decisions I can. That said, I really do not care to obsess on testing, many times, I let this guide me, usually to my detriment. So, bacteria... Yes, I still dose, and will continue until the day my reef has little algae, and corals are totally healthy. My info is anecdotal, but there seems to be something very positive yielded when doing so, and 1+1 to me is all the evidence I need, again, based on my eyes, and coral health
Hope that answers things, I am a totally different reefer though, lol
