hi everyone! any ideas as to what this may be at the bottom of this frag? noticed it today and want to make sure it’s not detrimental to our tank. thank you all!!

almost a slimy feeling. super strange it’s on one other frag ‘post’ in the tank as well, any suggestions on removal or safe way to scrub it off possibly?

I’d cut the plug with snips.

it literally looks like slime.. haven’t physically touched it because no idea what it is, but looks like a jelly consistency.

A pic in water will give a better look of it but it looks like colonial tunicates. Something like Botryllus sp.

See if this matches to what you see underwater. If so, they’re harmless but can be scraped off.

To be extra cautious, I would just take the frag off the plug completely. It kind of looks like eggs and who knows for sure where they are from.

thank you all for the replies. we are going to remove it just to be safe. acropora eating flatworm possibly?

we are removing it to be safe & going to take it to our local FS. and once i get a solid answer i’ll post it here. thank you for the help!!!
