I don't know if it's possible to over filter a tank but you certainly have a lot of chemical filtration in that mix ( Purigen , carbon and chemipure )

I agree with the fact that you do have a lot of chemical filtration. How old is the tank ? It looks like a bacterial bloom. I see that your not doing anything, right?

I have a new tank also, I just posted the same thing a few days ago! It appears to be a bacterial bloom how old is your tank ? My personal opinion is the longer you can go without putting fish in there as well as coral the better. My cycle is pretty much done but I'm still keying my tank establish itself by adding micro algae pods and light feedings with cultured plankton.

Sometimes cutting back a bit on the duration of light can help a bit. I have used 20-25% reduction at times as the only change and it helped. Some folks more techie than me have suggested a UV sterilizer added to their return line. I've always wondered if it would also kill off the good bacteria. So I have not resorted to using one.

I recently had a persistent Bacterial Bloom just recently in a new 28 gallon Red Sea Nano. After a week of trying to get rid of it I finally broke down and purchased a 9 Watt Coralife Turbo-Twist UV Sterilizer (Aquariums 125 Gallons - 200 GPH - 1/2", 5/8" Inlet/Outlet) from http://www.petmountain.com/product/...-turbo-twist-uv-sterilizer-for-aquariums.html for $90.00 dollars (you get a $5.00 dollar discount for signing up for their newsletter.). Then I purchased an Eheim CompactON 600 (159 GPH) pump from https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/compacton-600-159-gph-eheim.html for $29.99 (used a $5.00 coupon as well) and some hosing from Lowes.

The results were noticeable within a couple of hours and within 24 hours the tank was crystal clear. You can read about my trials two Bacterial Bloom's here https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/new-build-red-sea-reefer-nano-21.314556/ there are numerous images.

Ok so I went back to basics and took out the chemipure. As I was doing that I noticed that 2 hermit crabs died behind the rock work. There's my extra nutrients. Vacuumed the sand bed behind the rocks as best as I could. Hopefully that's it.

Like everyone else said, it's a bacterial bloom. If you continue to feed a lot and even if you try to do continuous water changes, it may not help. Best thing to do is just let it run its course.

My last tank had it last for a few weeks.

Best of luck though!
