Hi guys I’m hoping I can find someone to help me out here. I have a Red Sea Reefer 750xxl and Im trying to install a pentair 40w uv. I’m not good with the whole pvc plumbing part and I’m wondering if someone can give me ideas. I want to put it under the sump, as I don’t want it to be an eye sore outside. I’m not sure if I should try to plumb it with the existing return pump or if I should get another pump.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I have attached some pictures of sump. I’ve mark in red were I would like to put it.

Maybe there's some uv threads you could read to assist you by using search part of r2r.

Good luck

I would get a separate pump. Make it easier to get the correct flow through the uv. Then if for some reason you decide to remove it down the road you won't have to alter the return pump.

These guys can be tricky. I managed to get mine installed on the 40/20g system I have, but not my 210g yet. Pain in the bum. I tried twice to get it to plumb into the return and it failed miserably. So, I am going to run it from tank into tank, but have not got it done yet.
Get a dedicated pump for it to allow for correct flow.
Make sure you have room to remove the light to replace.

Good luck!
