As a reefer who had to deal with a failed seam from a RS tank I feel vindicated to see RS is eurobracing their 100G+ G3 tanks . Nothing screams *we screwed up massively* harder than this. https://redseafish.com/aquarium-systems/reefer-g3/#/en

That’s exactly what a euro does from a structual standpoint Shane.. it keeps the panel flat so all the pressure is on the glass and not the silicone.. once a piece of glass is bowing it creates pressure on the silicone “flexes it” because it’s glued straight and then you have failure. That’s interesting. But I thought the biggest issue was the bottom seam. Perhaps it’s a lack of aquarium building knowledge on my part, but I don’t see how the eurobrace would prevent the bottom seam from failing unless it’s because it aids in preventing flexing on the front pane eventually leading to the failure of the bottom seam by non-braced tanks.

They had all sorts of issues with the stands, under sized glass and bad silicone if you ask me… they went super cheap for maximum profit and it bit themThanks so much, was trying to figure out WHY they went with the eurobrace when the issue was seems at the bottom.
Still staying away from RS for the moment, really eying a WB. But since I'm still couple years out from bigger tanks will just see what happens. If the brace truly fixes the issue I MAY consider the RS as very local company pretty much just sells them.
… first they fixed the stands with a updated support that didn’t cure them. Then it was glass deflection and poor silicone.Don't get your expectations up. When mine failed I got a big fat middle finger from them.I just noticed a seam failing on my 200XL after carefully monitoring for signs over the last year or two. Tanks only been in use 3 years, ***
I just messaged Redsea about this
Totally agree. I just got the finger from them today, after being asked for multiple pics. Lesson learned, will now go with a Waterbox which I originally preferred anyway.Don't get your expectations up. When mine failed I got a big fat middle finger from them.
If i were in your position I would eurobrace the tank, top and bottom, before even filling it the 1st time.Red Sea is sending ANOTHER 100% free G2 tank. I asked "if G3 is better why not replace it with that instead of another G2 which has failed on me twice now?" Response: If you wanted to upgrade to a Reefer 425 G3 system, we can apply the MSRP of the Reefer 425 G2 glass replacement ($1,569.75) as a credit toward the cost of the G3 system. This would leave a pre-tax remaining balance of $1,929.25.
I told them to just send the G2.
I'd LIKE to get an acrylic replacement that fits on this stand. Just not sure WHICH one would be good.

I was gifted a brand new 625 G2 and wanted to eurobrace it before I put water in it for the first time. Any suggestions or advice on how to eurobrace it?You won't like Acrylic. just scratch's too easy. I would use the G2 and reinforce it with eurobracing top and bottom.
Essentially, you're siliconing a 2" strip of glass(same thickness as tank) all the way around the inside of tank- top and bottom.I was gifted a brand new 625 G2 and wanted to eurobrace it before I put water in it for the first time. Any suggestions or advice on how to eurobrace it?
