Dang sounds like a heck of battle. The flow on my tank(same as yours) is ok and I've got stock pumps with the spin stream and only using one with a mp10. Don't think I've got any dead spots.
Glad the values work I need to get a jebao return pump think I'll grab the 2k one.
Do you have any pics of how the skimmer looks with the tank. I bought a tunze 9004 and it won't fit in the back and found a great deal on an aquamaxx hob.

Yep sure do! Sorry, it's with the blues on.

It sticks out. However, guests never seem to notice it when your tank is filled with coral. At least thats what I noticed on my old(first) 20 gallon.

Your tank looks beautiful!
I remember when Gonipora was almost impossible to keep in a nano!
Excellent job!
Thank you! That red goniopora has been through so much. Many algae outbreaks and parameter swings. It's been a tough coral!

You need more herbivores. Maybe get a small Tomini tang to help you get rid of the infestation. They love to gobble hair algae and cyano.

That will probably never happen. But a great suggestion!

Yeah. I changed out a piece of rock a few months back and it caused a dino outbreak. I thought it was diatoms but I was wrong lol. I Saturated the tank with po4 and no3 to get rid of the dinos. It worked but then gha and cyano took over. So that is where I am at. Since I dosed the nutrients to remove dinos, i figured time and water changes would fix the high nutrients.
The best thing for my in regards to cyano was to change my filter socks and clean my skimmer cup daily. I use all of the magic potions and that work for a week or two but the clean finally got rid of the cyano:)

Well I ran a modest amount of GFO for 4 days along with gac. The cyano is mostly gone but that's because dinoflagellets started out competing. The hair algae is still fairly prominent. But I'm throwing in the towel.

I guess I'm at a fork in the road. I refuse to purchase anymore fixes, test kits or supplements to deal with it.

My next plan is to prep for a tear down and restart. Before I do it though, I'll be doing a GFO "bomb" followed by 3 day black out just for the hell of it. This is what I did with chrysophytes and it worked. It's my version of a last ditch effort. However, I don't think it will work. Anyway, this tank could have been cool. The next rendition will be better.

Can we get a current FTS to compare with when the blackout is over?

I would think that the gfo should take care of most of it along with water changes. Hate to see you have to restart your tank.
Agree with a FTS.
Sure can. It's going to be an abrupt procedure with possible negative impacts. So expect the worst and hope for the best :D

I don't blame ya for wanting to start over. Maybe murtitic acid bath the rocks and start over. Definitely sucks. You can use janitorial strength ammonia and aquaforest bio s to cycle your tank in 2 weeks. Hopefully it doesn't have to come to that.
Here's a pic of mine for encouragement.

I really like your rockscape!
Todays been the angel and devil on the shoulder kind of day. One side is encouraging me to make one last ditch effort;Nurse;Happy. The other side says rip it down. ;Vamp;Hurting

I will say the last ditch effort hasn't ever happened so i cant rule out the possibility of it working. I also won't be GFO bombing the tank yet. So, I'll be back in a few hours with an update.
