I’ve never seen a 15 year captive fish develop lymphocystis - virtually 100% of cases are seen in recently acquired fish….also, this doesn’t really look like lympho.Sail fin is 15 years old. There are other tangs, wrasse, gobby, anthias, emperor angel. He is probably the most dominant. Nobody really mess with him. I noticed this in recent day or 2. All the fish in the tank been there a while last one was added maybe a year ago. This some recent event. They could have fought but I haven't seen them really fight.
It's more cottony sticking out kind of.Back to my first question, am I describing what you are concerned about? Does the white mass look cottony or hard or (pick an adjective)?
I'm not surprised he is dominant, they are pretty fish. You may want to train your phone camera on him, then leave the room for a while. May also need to do this when the lights go down in case the aggression occurs then.
