Healing from HLLE is very dependent on how long the fish has had the issue, as well as how severe the lesions are. Greg Lewbart, an aquatic vet has the opinion that HLLE lesions beyond a certain level cannot be healed, and my experience aligns with that. Some public aquariums have experimented with lesion debridement and the application of Regranex gel, but the core issue still needs to be addressed - specifically do not use lignite carbon on the tank.

Pics would help!
I have updated the thread with photos on March 4th, and again today! If you scroll through, let me know what your opinion is on healing / severity.

Update! Coloration has almost completely returned along the head/face. Only a small amount of visible white 'blotchiness' remaining. She also had an eye injury that lasted a couple weeks, but has since healed. Spends most of her days picking at the rocks, and eats most things I add to the tank, including picking at the nori I put in there a few times per week for the foxface.

I cured this Angel's HLLE by giving him tons of Nori. I am pretty sure he developed HLLE from lack of veggies.... was feeding him mostly frozen and pellets. After about a month, his HLLE started to heal up... with a scar of course, but it was much better.

Thank you, I'm excited about it! I just picked up another fish—a sailfin tang—two days ago that also has fairly progressed HLLE, so I'm hoping that fish will also make progress in recovering. 😃

Another update! She's fully healed at this point. She looks vibrant and there are no longer traces of white along her face.
This fish recovered very nicely and quickly.
If I get sick I will call on you.

Amazing job.
