i haven't been able to get a good shot of my german blue polyp acro yet. but they absolutely LOVE to be blasted by the strongest light you got. so i suggest moving it ALL the way up to the highest point of the tank.

mine is simply GLOWING. and its getting hammerd so hard now, this past week i'm noticing the that very tippy top is starting to turn ORANGE!! lol

Very nice pieces, is that delicate as in to handel or to keep?

Here are 2 very basic pieces wich I belive the Origine to be ORA, before the Hurrican wiped out there facility. about 10+ Yrs ago theese were purchased from them. AND gone through MANY MANY hands since then I couldn't begin to tell ya how many people have frag of theses LOL, great thread IDEA. I think ORA is a great CO.!!

ANd now the PICs Nothing special.........

DSC00932.jpg

Orange cap in the back and I can't belive but i don't have a photo uploaded of the green poccilopora? Sorry it was bought about 6 yrs ago and sat in eggcreat for about 6 months, te frag was sold then I was left with what was encrusted, that has turned into about 200 2" frags LOL for anyone who wanted one basically. I would say if it never got frag it would be bigger than a basket bal by noy but I am left witha colony that is about the size of a min basket ball, ohh Darn right LOL

I think that corals like that grown in captivity for so long are able to handel so many more issues it sems, thay are more flexable if you will.

ORA stands for Oceans Reefs Aquariums.

they are a massive aquaculture facility in Florida. They aquaculture corals, inverts, and breed fish. Then they sell their stocks to LFS and online retailers around the country.

Since their stock is aquacultured, its usually VERY hardy and very colorful. Thus why people like them so much than buying corals/fish from the wild.

yeah, i saw that over on RC a couple days ago.

not a chance i'm paying $120+ for something that small from liveaquaria.

they have the ORA german blue polyp acro at like $70.......i can get it from several LFS for around $30-$40 for the same size.
