What in the world? I just saw a single tentacle of my torch floating around in the water. Has anyone seen this before?

I don’t know what makes them do it but i had my torches experience this and there was no negative affect after that. Usually they call it a polyp bailout

I’ve heard of polyp bailout, but I thought that was a last ditch survival mechanism, and would be the whole head.

It’s reassuring to hear yours were fine after this happening.

One day I found the tips of my torch tenticles either nibbled of or somehow fell. They regrew just fine. Corals will regrow what they lose.

It’s possible that let say if it has two and one fell off, yes it can be regrown to two or even more. However, if an actual head is fell off, I am pretty certain, it’s done.
