clean tank and pics. Looks great!
Thank you! :)

Corals look great!
I also went to Fauna Marin Balling.
What KH and the pH in the system?

KH=7.5dKH
pH=8.2

Great looking reef Sahin! Corals look absolutely stunning!!
Thanks man. I love your tanks so thanks for the compliment.

Update:
All the Anthias I recently added are doing well. But they only feed on frozen foods. Any tips/ideas on getting them to eat flakes?

Many polyps have turned almost a deep red.

Bubblegum Millepora - that white patch is actually light blue but on the photo is mostly blown out.

This piece is slowly looking better and better. Cant wait to see it as nice as it was before the crash last year.

Green on the Red Planet at last Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!

Frags; the older frag grew when I began to feed the tank crazy. The frag behind is a new cutting from one of the colonies which hasnt quite picked up the green pigment (old tissue takes longer to colour up? I dont know).

Loving this one:

Another shot of the Red Planet. Had to give the colony a blast with the baster to get it to retract the polyps a little.

They are certainly gorgeous Acropora and a fat Mandarin. The Blue Tenuis? Towards the end, what is the common name, is that a Joe or Borealis?

I do like forums where I can like.

Do you ever take any videos Sahin? I'd love to see the flow on some of these to get an idea how my flow is doing.

Dont laugh at how shaky the video is...focusing/holding photobox/adjusting settings etc made for a very amateurish video. Colours are pretty representative of what I see in person when looking down at corals. Some corals look slightly better in person, but greens are a touch saturated, but overall, I think I got the white balance OK.

Last week I noticed the alk drop to below 6dKH. I am dosing 60mls of alk a day now and its climbing...Corals lost colour slightly, but are generally ok.

Watch in HD.
Recorded with the Canon 70D with a standard kit lens. Cant afford a dedicated prime/macro lens at the moment.

Photos were all taken today, I've moved corals around today so locations are slightly different than video which was recorded last week:

that is striking. The corals are simply not avail where I live at they are pure cherry picks and if they were available here they would be $$ inaccessible. That's not even counting maintaining the color on base plating after getting them this is home run. I saw your old school tank in 2002 rc posts how far has color pop come
the baddest sps avail back then was pretty much tyree purple monst

Now that strain would be avg among this palette

My tank has been featured on Canreef.com as Tank of the Quarter for Spring 2016. It was quite a surprise for me though as there are way nicer tanks on the Canreef forum. :uhoh3:

So these posts are just about a massive photo dump. But lets start off with my new light:

Giesseman Spectra: 400w Radium 20K with ATI T5 and LED's combining the best of all 3 technologies. I've modded the spectra by pulling out the Giesemann T5 reflectors, inserting ATI reflectors, a T5 ballast from an ATI unit as well as incorporating fan cooling. The 400w Radium is run off a Lumatek E-Ballast which runs the Radium just slightly above specification.

Finishing off with some tank shots:

IMG_1475_zpsu3kmblhq.jpg

IMG_1477_zpsoma8ckyu.jpg

I've had issues with nutrients over the past few months...The tank doesnt register excess PO4 or NO3, but there is some algae on the rocks (not too much though) and the corals experienced some browning or darkening. My friend Rui thought maybe my skimmer isnt upto the job.

Having looked at the system and the fish load I began to keep a close eye on the skimmer and did notice a reduction in skimmate production. Taking apart the Bubble Magus NAc skimmer showed that the meshwheel wasnt in the best of condition anymore.

BUT, I also discovered that the outer cable on the pump had split! I therefore ordered a Deltec 1351 skimmer. I found it to be a bit finicky so I returned it and got a Deltec 1456 with the DC pump. The new skimmer is running very well.

Over the next few months I plan to reduce the organics/nutrients a little more and hope that with the new skimmer and lights my corals will look better. Most look alright, but as always there are improvements to be made.
