I would be scared to use it but doesn't muriatic acid lower alk

I heard about it but I don't want to take the risk. I will keep doing 10% water changes every other day until the alk goes down to 8 dkh. Don't want to put to much stress on the fish and corals.

Yes it does and @FarmerTy just did it to his tank for the same reason.... Is be leery doing it though.

Just finished doing a 30g w/c, 15 on the Sump and another 15 on the DT. All corals reside but I finally can read a real number on the Hanna Alk. Got it down to 12.6 from a 20.0. I will wait a couple of days to see corals reaction and keep doing 10% w/c until reach 8-9 doh.

Tank is recovering slowly. Just did a Alk test and came down to 12.7 dkh. I will do another 10% W/C this Friday until I reach around 9dkh. Here's a short video of my tank. Thanks

Well, celebrating my reef tank two years anniversary. It’s nice when you can look back when you started and what it’s now.

Thank you @Peace River . Believe me, picture don't justice. I'm really happy with the outcome of my little piece of the ocean. This is nothing compared to other reefers tanks.

It's not aways about the comparison, sometimes it is about the battles you've won! Think about the ups and downs over those two years, how much you've learned, and the life lessons that your boys have been able to learn. You're tenacity is inspiring to many - keep up the great work!
