Starfish lost his leg

My starfish lost his leg, does that mean he is sick? I just got him.

It might just be that the arm was damaged. However, one of the symptoms of a starfish starving is loss of limbs. I'd make sure he is eating well.

How big and how old is the tank? Is there enough there for the guy to eat?

I just got him yesterday and the other starfish had Loss limbs but the guy there said the mantis was getting to them. I got the one that had all his limbs. I had the tank going about two months. Maybe I'll call them and take him back. Makes me sad

I'm venturing a two month old tank does not have sufficient food to feed a star....unless you supplement food.
