Starfish

I have a red and white link is starfish. It has been in my tank for several months. I don't see it very often because it is well camouflaged. The other morning I found this

The single leg is moving around the tank as if it were a whole starfish. Is this normal for them to shed limbs.

No, something must have happened to it and that arm will more then likely die. Most when they lose arms die pretty quickly.
