Vortech Pumps Configured Part 2

Thank you crabs_mcjones and Vinny@GHLUSA or helping me out on the Vortech Issues.

Following
crabs_mcjones post to do a hard reset(https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/new-vortech-controller-install-issue.331836/#post-4130159) I was able to pair all 3 controllers to the GHL Vortech Control. Per Vinny@GHLUSA, I will not see a status of my pumps as a software upgrade is coming to allow us to see QD status within the controller.
Vor_4.jpg

Once the pumps are assigned you can edit the pumps schedules
Vor_5.jpg

Above is my Daily schedule following closely what I had before which was having a high and low tide. The Green dot is the one that is currently active.

Some things you need to remember:
Your pump intensity is 1 to 255, so if you want for example 70% of the pump intensity it is 70% of the 255 so approx 179.

When I first did my pumps I set them all to 1-100 thinking 1 was the lowest and 100 was the highest and started to scratch my head looking at the pumps every few hours going why are they running so low.

I was unable to do this anywhere in the myghl web application, and until the software is updated you will not know the status of your pump, if it is for example stalled or offline.

Is 1-255 still the case with vortechs? Also, do they have a line graph style interface now, or is it still in list form?

@CNDReef - Depends :)

Tunze 1 Cable would use the L1 or L3 or L5
Tunze 2 Cable would use the L2 or l4 or L6 on the P4.

If you use the Y Cable https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/usa/product/yl2-1/ you can then plug two Tunze Pumps into the P4, one with a Tunze 1 cable and one with a Tunze 2 cable.

Here a video explaining it :)

KH Director issues

Anyone ever have an error that says “Tritation taking too long”?

Also, issues with their 4mm silicone tubing falling of the small plastic connectors?

If so, how did you remedy this?

My KH Director has been all over the place for the last few days and I have already tried recalibrating the pumps, the probe, and flushing everything over and over again.

I use the ones that came with the pump and they hold good in place.
You just need to push the tubing over the large part of the connector.
On my side I cut off the smallest part of the connectors and use a Dremel high speed cutter bit to pass it side by side and it works great.

Did you check the following ?

Possible problems and causes
Error message “Titration takes too long”
This message appears when the KHD failed to complete a measurement. The measurement is stopped after a certain time if the pH value could not change sufficiently.
If this error occurs, you should watch the progress of the pH value during the measurement for further diagnosis (visible on the KHD page in new GCC versions, if necessary, update GCC). Does the pH value change? From what value to what value?

Possible causes:
  • Reagent empty – top up and vent system
  • Internal circulation pump does not run (pump should be heared during measurement and water circulation in the measuring cell is visible after removing the housing cover) – Contact Service
  • Internal reagent tube is clogged or pinch valve is not open (can be seen after removing the housing cover) – Contact Service
  • Measuring cell is not (sufficiently) filled with sample water, as result the pH electrode is not submerged – Find and eliminate the cause
  • pH electrode defective, can be found out by calibration – Replace pH electrode

The only one of these I have not done is taken off the housing cover to see the measuring cell.

And I don’t know what the different PH values will tell me. There is no chart that tells me what a PH deviation will tell.

The PH electrode value goes from 2.4 up to 7.7 and then it went back down to 2.3 after.

Not sure what this can tell anyone.

@Ditto
@Vinny@GHLUSA

Anyone have a clue as to what is wrong?

Does this need to be sent in for maintenance?

At the bottom of the Khd dash, you should check the ph value during the test.
Ph should go until 4.5-4.3 at the end of the titration process ( just before the wast water pump start)
You can run also the diag tool to check pump and pinch valve. Make sure that the probe is also well calibrated.
