I can never understand how people can be bored. Being board means your lazy unless you are so infirm you can't do anything.
Am a retired carpenter...supposably as there is no such thing. There is always something to do or build if not for me then for friends or family.
I have a car with a distributor and rear drum brakes. I serviced the brakes a few months back. Am not so good at lying on my back under cars these days so when I take it for the yearly MOT ( in the UK most cars have to have a stringent test to ensure its roadworthy) I get the tester to do an oil and filter change.
Most other things I do myself. I have rebuilt engines in the past, overhauled cylinderheads etc. Somethings aren't worth tacking yourself esp if you know you will pay for it later.
I have 2 cars. A Skoda Octavia estate as my daily which is modern and my JBA Falcon which is a much more interesting car. I call it a handbuilt bespoke car, others call it a kit car. I didn't build it myself but I have improved it. It would cost a lot to build and a lot less to buy and improve secondhand which is what I did.
Here is my JBA Falcon. I will be out in it soon taking it to a classic car meet near me.
