Hey guys, I decided that I wanted to lower my Alk a bit from 9.5 to 8/8.5. I use API to test Alk since I was told it was fine. For the most part it has been consistent, regardless if the DKH is right or not.

My issue is I turned my doser off yesterday at 7 and tested at 9ish and tested today at 7 and it still looks the same. Am I missing something?

No usage? I'm used to seeing at least a 1/2 dkh drop in a day.

Are you talking about 7pm and 9am? If so corals consume much much less if any at night.

What are your nutrients at?
P04 -0 and nitrates 25. Trying to bring phosphate up. Diy scrubber sucked out all the phosphate and left nitrate. Planning on using water changes to bring nitrates down and backing off the scrubber to let PO4 come up. Stuff is pale and I figure it's due to phosphates reading 0 on Hanna.

I also increased feeding as I got three more fish. And to the question after, 7pm-7pm. The nine is Alk. Dropping it to 8 but it isn't moving as fast downward as the doser doses to maintain.

Just measure once a day near the same time. Get a salifert alk test kit... API are junk and, while better than nothing, are not good enough to chase numbers with.

Ok. Will do. Will have to import.
