Is anyone else having issues with the quality of included test kit syringes? I was using aquaforest for a little bit but the plungers started developing more and more friction after every use to the point where they snapped after I tried replacing them into the syringe after a cleaning. I then switched to Salifert after frustration with AF and their tests in general but after just a few uses the numbers and hash marks on the syringe from the magnesium kit has started to fade off. When I looked up the brand of syringes for AF to buy replacements I could not find any for sale in my country (USA). I would have looked up Saliferts syringe brand but it peeled off. Does anybody know if the accuracy of these tests are effected much by the brand of syringe used? I asked AF customer service about this and they said that they could not guarantee 100% accuracy unless it’s their specific syringe. Curious if anybody else has found a way to replace these syringes or found a comparable one. Is there another test kit I should consider that may have better quality products that last longer than the reagents?

You can stick a bit of clear tape over the printed bit, or keep your fingers off them altogether.

They're made for single use and the rubber swells/hardens the more they're used. You can rejuvenate them to an extent with silicone oil which also works for O-rings.

You can upgrade to a micropipette which is faster to use and more accurate.

I have other 1ml syringes that I have compared to the kit ones and they have different length hubs. I fear this may affect accuracy.
it doesn’t matter, the gradations are calibrated to the specific syringe, a ml is a ml and a fraction of a ml is a fraction of a ml.
