I actually find pics of bubble algae to be pretty. The texture is interesting. Some of Rakie's pics were pretty with the green pearls and pops of brilliant color.

Excuse the pic on your journal @Rakie .
Pink anacropora, I really should clean it! ;)

“Blue scammer pics” hahaha I think I this should how everyone should refer to “all blue” pics from now on
It's def how me and bubba refer to them!!

Hopefully these pictures upload in the right order, but there is a marked difference between a regular pic, and a pic with orange filters, doesn't matter if it's blue only it full spectrum pic.

The orange filter does a lot.

So anyway, here are some full spectrum vs blue with orange filter pics of the same corals.

(The last two are a RRU Rainbow Blossom, and I have two mini colonies so they are the same coral right next to each other -- but a pic of each mini colony instead of the same one!)

I like the comparison
I figured you would, lol.

I would like to get full spectrum pics with and without the blue filter too... But that would be an article level write up. Not sure I wanna spend 2 hours getting great pics and another 2 writing something up.

Try a brown filter. Most accurate filter I’ve found.
Any particular shade of brown or a link to the one you like?

I have a roll of those filters for stage lighting so I have about 25 shades of brown to choose from haha

Instead of "POSSIBLY BANNED", the article would get you a new "BANNER"... go for it.

They actually removed my banners for arguing back with idiots. I vowed to never help anybody ever again, and to refuse any banner given to me for anything relating to being helpful or nice. If people want my help, they can PM me, or read my thoughts in my build thread. I will never again go out of my way to help anybody with anything.

I'm the epitome of once bitten twice shy.

I guess a banner for arguing with idiots does not stand well.
Anyhow, your thread is more than helpful and informative. It is always a great read.

So tomorrow the new Ballasts should be installed in the AquaticLife T5 fixture. I'll have absolutely nothing to do with instillation because I want it to work. They will be Phillips HEP ballasts, which are apparently top of the line. This should hopefully increase my par by quite a bit.. If so, I'll be mindful of killing everything with too much light.

Can you get a picture of the ballasts?
I looked for these here, but cannot find them.

Do you have a way to find out if these will give you more PAR?
