Hi guys.

My toadstool was partially closed yesterday (looked like a hard shell taco) but his polyps were still nice and extended. Today, I came home from work and he’s open again but most of his polyps are extended and there are these white patches on top of it. Some of the polyps are turning dark too. Is this a sign of shedding or should I be concerned? He’s been doing amazing and no other corals in the tank have issues (disregard the Zoas to the left - they were given to me for free after being stung by euphillia and probably won’t make it). My water parameters are fine: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 15 nitrates.

White light might show that better.
Leathers do all sorts of stuff.
Any crabs? They look like tiny bite marks.
They don’t look unhealthy.

Btw….make sure you have phosphate available or stuff will starve overtime.

Posted a picture of 100% white light above. ^ My phosphates are good, I recently had them tested at my LFS. I have hermit crabs, an emerald crab, and a cleaner shrimp. Haven’t noticed them on the toadstool but I’ll monitor. Do you see the dark spots where the polyps are? And the white patchy areas? Wasn’t like this yesterday.

Watch the crabs, I removed every single one 5 years ago.

I see the dark spots but they look like a retracted polyp to me in the pic. Mine look same when retracted, not all,of them, just some.

I have seen a flatworm infection but those look way to small, but, to be sure, give the leather a knock with your fingers and see if anything comes off.

If not, not seeing an issue other than its sulking, or splitting.
