He looks like a rainbow. Does he look like that in person?

I just looked at the pictures on my laptop, and they are dull. He's closer to the pictures I had of him in the QT tank. Very vibrant and contrasted colors.

I just saw the tomini put him in his place, after pushing the leopard out of the way. Usually the tomini is really passive, but he is making his territory known. Pecking order is having to be re-established, but so far so good.

I added my Melanarus and Yellow Tang to the 40B last night after moving some of the Fairies into the big tank and well...we havent seen the Blue Throat or Linespot since. I think theyre scared of the new comers. Anyway, The Melanarus is getting along just fine with the Radiant who's also still in that tank.

That's good to hear. Something happened to my radiant shortly after I added him. He had a huge wound on his right side gill cover. Yellow/orange color gone and nothing but white flesh showing. Looked to be the entire size of the gill cover. I'm not sure if something attacked him, or if he injured himself diving into a rock... but a few days after that I didn't see him anymore. Never had time to try and catch him and medicate.

Something happened to my radiant shortly after I added him.

Bummer, such a pretty fish. Sounds more like a sudden injury with post infection than it does an attack or sickness to me. Seeing where mine chooses to dive into the sand im surprised he's never hurt himself. The tiniest gap between two rocks he wiggles into each night.

Tried to get better pics. Less blue, more green, but not green green. It's more of a bleen, or a grue... That trachy is every bit of 6" and he's close to being as long as it is. Large fish for sure.

I think this guy would kill a 2" six line no problem... he's 5" long and just as thick as Bonnie. The side shots dont show it but he didn't skip chest day. He's a tank for sure.

My brunneus and mccoskeri would have serious problems tho. They are much smaller. The brunneus is maybe 3 1/4" and streamlined. The mccoskeri is around a 2 1/2" sub male, but he's the only red fish in the tank so he stands out very well. I could see a six line stressing them out.

my only wrasse took right after I got it . A great fish loads of personality . Doesn't take gruff from the yellow tail damsels either.

I also wanted to mention that while looking at the tank with the red LED, the water and rocks are teeming with amphipods and copepods. The water looks like a twitchy, wiggling snow globe in the lower flow areas. Evidently, amphipods can see red light as they were scattering when I would shine them.

This makes me feel really good about the longevity of my black leopard wrasse, and some of the copepods I have coming next week will most likely get put into a grow out system.

Most bugs and such can't distughish red light from black. So it's a great light to use to observe tank at night.

Yea, it was only 6 or 8 dollars. I can't remember. But yea, I know from living in the country around hunters that red is a good color to use for hunting raccoons and wild hogs at night, and it doesnt kill your night vision. I also know it's the first wavelength of visible light that gets filtered out in water, so most creatures that love in water aren't developed to see it as they are more blue and UV light.
