When they mature, are they social or just eating machines?

Just saw this... the dwarf moray is actually colonial, unlike most other eels who are very solitary. To the point of killing and or eating others of the same species. Probably adapted because of their small size and being easy prey for many fish and larger eels. I think Pacific Island Aquatics had a video of a dozen or so GDMs feeding on mysis. Very cool video. Let me go find it....

I totally do. I love following tons of build threads. I especially love seeing people adding unusual critters or things I could not have in my own.

I'd love to have a colony of GDMs trained on mysis... but talk about expensive livestock. Sheesh, $300 a pop for each addition to the tank. Feeding each one individually too if they won't take mysis or broadcast feedings. Ugh that would be so much work, but SOOOO COOOL

I'd like a pair, even if they aren't what would be traditionally considered a "pair." I'm not sure the reproductive habits of dwarf moray eels have been studied in detail...

Two morays in the tank really would limit my other stock options in a nano. Pom pom crabs may be out of the equation, along with sexy shrimp. Emeralds, I'm sure would be fine as well as a larger cleaner shrimp, but shrimp are evil and kill LPS for their food.

I went for the squid earlier and realized I had to toss all my cut and prepared tentacles as they had gotten freezer burn. All I had was a little flat sheet bag thing of "squid pieces" which are more tubes than tentacles and in rather large pieces. I did find a tentacle or two I could try in the chunk I thawed. I'll run to the hippie food store over in Columbia and pick up some more calimari. I might try some krill or maybe the LRS Chunky tomorrow tho before I leave. I would be ecstatic if he went for the LRS.
