A few months ago, I decided to upgrade from my UNS 90LA to a UNS R60. This is my first experience with a sumped tank so it is a bit of a learning curve for me.

I moved all of the coral from my 90LA originally, but eventually decided I wanted to move away from LPS and softies and try my hand with some easier SPS.

Since this was one of the earliest prototypes of the system, the stand still had a wooden backing to it. I decided to remove this for a cleaner, more open sump, making it similar to the newer models of the R line.

I used marco rock to build a tiered rock structure, as I wanted to keep the rockwork in this tank fairly minimal.

I ended up using a Sicce SDC 7.0 for the return pump, as well as a sicce wavemaker in the tank, as well as an AquaExcel protein skimmer. I mounted them to the electrical cabinet walls with double sided tape. I found an old Chihiros Doser from one of my freshwater tanks in my closet and decided to give it a try with All-for-reef.

Moving all the coral and fish over went smoothly luckily. I moved over the two Kessils from my 90LA too and am really happy with how the transition turned out. This is how the tank looked a few weeks after the transition.

The scape looks great, it should give a really cool effect once it's all grown in!

Decided a few months ago to make a shift towards a more SPS focused scape and redid my tank to help with this. I moved a few LPS to the work tanks and kept the ones I liked separate from the SPS. I added a small island to the front of the tank to keep the aggressive torches on.

I also ended up upgrading my lighting to a reef factory reef flare M when the whites died in my Kessils.

I installed a reef factory smart roller S as well, as I was not changing out my filter socks as regularly as I should have been.

Really happy with the aqua excel skimmer too, hasn't given me any problems yet.

I'm excited for the release of the refugium light for y'all as well. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: It has been growing both dragons' breath and chaeto very well and fits perfectly into the lid of the chamber.

(Ignore the dirty glass :dizzy-face:)

Overall the tank has been going really steady these past few months, and I'm happy with the ARF dosing. Acros seem to prefer the spread of the reef factory as well.

Some detail shots of some of the acro growth
