I am creating too many threads today, sorry!

I am looking for MP40's for my tank, and while browsing (used mostly now) I keep seeing the "MP40" with the various letters, ES, Q-something, WD/whatever.....

what are the differences? Better yet, what one do I want? (I want D/C and quiet, and able to adjust flow etc) I will be connecting them to an Apex also, so if some are compatible/some aren't, that'd be good to know.

Thanks.

This is what I know...

W = Wireless

QD = Quiet Drive

You'll need the WXM module and it will need to be a wireless model vortech pump.

The WQD is the current model, Wireless Quiet Drive.
WES is the previous model, Wireless EcoSmart.
Before that was the W, I believe, and I think WWD was the original. You are likely to see primarily WQD and a decent amount of WES on the market. Earlier versions are few and far in between.

So all “W” WWD and WES are wireless and can be used with Apex?

In the -10 size of WES and WQD, they were available in both wireless and non wireless versions. The control box looked the same, but the w only lights up if the wireless chip is installed. I believe the -40's in WES and WQD were only available as wireless, though the chip can be removed. If you see the "W" lit in blue, the chip is installed. I'm not sure about the earlier models.
