Water storage

What are the best practices for salt water storage? How often to mix, does it go bad, powerhead - other then putting it in tank and letting it sit what does everyone do?

There was a thread on this already maybe a quick Google search will bring it up.

I just use a 27g tote for fresh and salt. I make enough to store for a month or two with a heater n powerhead

I will hang my head in shame and say that I have stored it for well over a month at a time, but I think you will find that using it within a few days of mixing it is the often recommended practice. Some of the elements can start to precipitate out over time, which leaves you will less of the values you want in your display tank, especially if you have a reef.
