Other than the marks and swimming into powerheads nothing else was out of place.

added a wrasse 2 weeks ago but diduse safety stop for that. I realize it isn’t full proof but better than nothing
Ooh, swimming into the powerhead is not a good sign. That’s a common way to itch off the pests. Luckily you seem to be doing the right thing though in handling it.

Also noticed white on his eyeball. Almost like a human sty. Appears raised a bit but not Popeye

Well he’s in cop
I’m so sorry. That’s exactly how mine looked a few days before it died of velvet.

well he’s in copper and no other symptoms

I’ve seen velvet pics online and he’s not even close to that

let’s hope for the best

That’s only my experience with velvet, but it can vary. Best of luck though!!

Blenny showing small spots and rubbing against rocks.

can’t catch him. At this point going to use metroplex and hope for the best.
If I lose all my fish I’ll slowly start over and of course use QT going forward

Sounds like a parasitical outbreak
Possibly caused by water quality leading to stress and becoming widespread
What is your:
Salinity
Temperature
Ammonia
Nitrate

Tsp water from faucet or RODI water?
Rodi. Even check that and it’s 0 tds.

really weird didn’t notice anyone of this before adding a wrasse which seems unaffected

I’ll continue to monitor. My big clown is in QT for 2 weeks but even he appears to be over it

Due to the time frame, this is less likely to be velvet and that causes mortality much more quickly. Still, the copper treatment is the best course of action.

Thanks Jay

yeah from what I was researching they should be going downhill with easily recognizable symptoms by now.
One question I have is the QT copper treatment, the bottle says 14 days treatment . I’ve read on here 14 days then additional 14 days?
Also after treatment do I run carbon to get copper out or just keep levels as is and test again before future use?

Carbon isn’t really efficient at removing copper, I just do water changes. Some people use poly filters or cuprisorb.
I typically treat copper for 30 days.

So it so hard to read copper test for me lol i'm almost colorblind. At what level is toxic to fish? I'd imagine i have a few small points leeway if its over .5 but a pinch?

There isn’t a set point where copper becomes toxic, it varies by fish species and their condition. Check out the Hanna copper tester, it gives you a number, not a color to read.

Clown in QT no longer has spots and isn’t breathing as fast as before. Almost looks like once per second now
