What Microscopes do you use?

Okay so this excites and scares me....
I have heard several good things a microscope can be used for in this hobby and have been looking into getting one....quick search revealed there are several different types,grades and magnification strengths.

What one do you use and why?

I'm not looking to break the bank...honestly one of these $70 usb 50x - 500x seem awesome but if they are poop then I will wait till I can afford a good one.
