I'm thinking the first is an oceallaris and the second is a percula but I'm not certain, #reefsquad any thoughts?

I would tend to agree.

I know that there's a slight difference in the number of dorsal spines, but I tend to look at the iris of the eye - orange for percula, dark in oscelaris. (Given that many of these guys are captive bred, hybridization isn't out of the question, either - could be an oscula or a percularis . . . )

Generally, the spine count in the dorsal fin is a good indicator as well but there is some discrepancy again with captive bred specimens. I'm going off color and the way their eyes look in this case. The bottom one has a larger area of darker shading outside of it's white bands and has a lighter eye color so that's why I'm saying it is the percula.

Ok cool I wasn’t sure if That last spine near the next fin would be 11 or no that’s why I’m asking ok
I think there has been so much mixing in the gene pool with these fish that the spine count isn't as reliable anymore. It definitely still has the eye coloration of a perc and the overall skin coloration as most yellow-orange perc's I have seen.

I only count 10 spines in this picture and the first one... also has the classic thick black lines around the white bars. Agree this is a Perc.
