What is the one thing that you did that really started to bring out the colors in your sps?

Left them alone(hard for me to do) with good water quality and made sure to keep up with bulb changes.

leaving the corals alone is sooo important...took me 2 years to learn that but man it is so much healthier for the corals

I suppose fragging them every time they grow a new branch can't be good for their well being lol!

Actually if I have an sps coral that isn't doing anything I frag'em to see if it will spur new growth.
You know, I have seen that with other stuff besides sps, zoas and palys for instance may respond better when fragged.

Ahh if this only worked with mental growth I would have fragged my students back in August!

For me i would say that keeping the system in ULNS is the thing that keeps my sps at their best color.

Noticed more color when I started using the amino acids and replaced my grow bulbs Ushio's 10k with 14k and 20k ..moved some to the ATI PM t5 tank but the color is unchanged I thought for sure the color would improve over the metal halides? hmm
