Would this light work for a BTA

I have this Nicrew reef light I got off Amazon. Currently I have zoas, trumpets, a favia, clove polyps, GSP, a rainbow monti, and a leptastrea all are healthy and happy. Just wandering if this light it strong enough for a BTA.

Given those par measurements are in open air, no I don't think there's a chance that light supports a healthy BTA.

What size tank? I use this light and their timer for smaller tanks and in my nem qt.

It’s just a standard 30 gallon tank.

For a standard 30 gallon, you would need 2-3 and the rock would need to go up pretty high in the tank for a bta to be happy. I would suggest a viparspectra or similar black box for a tank like that. Set it about 10-12” off the water. There would be some par loss on the edges of the tank, but most of the tank will be covered fine.

Those lights are meant for nanos and picos. Really anything 12” deep or less.

Depends on the clownfish. Some will go to anything that moves. Some will go to the powerhead.
Green BTA may be an option as well. They typically do not want as much light as a rainbow or rose. It may end up higher in the tank than where it would be in someone else’s tank, but it is an option. I have one that grew Ike a weed and regularly splits in about 80 par. That is just where it settled and decided it was happy.

Cool, any substitute for a clownfish host?

I have multiple anemone and a pair of clowns. They want nothing to do with each other. Don't dictate your tank thinking it'll end up happily ever after between them. On top of that your tank needs to mature for the better part of a year before introducing an anemone
