My flame wrasse likes to nip at the mouths of my scoly and any LPS that is eating! So its definitely possible!

good luck cathing him lol.... im trying to catch my copperband so he stops picking on my acans and scolly....arrrrrr hes a quick booger lol

i've had cleaner shrimp before. none anymore...they poke into the mouths of LPS and steal food stressing it out big time. i also have flame wrasse but no problems. my yellow coris seems to prod the acans sometimes.

I really doubt it is the wrasse. Feed the corals well after the lights go out and you can avoid the "nipping" problem. Shrimp will eat out of the polyps and I've known them to tear polyps. I keep many wrasses, including a leopard, ant I've never experienced this. They will occasionally take food out of a polyp but the coral is unharmed.

I had problems with cleaners,bc shrimps, hermits and even fish stealing food out of acans,duncs,scolys..while feeding time and damaging their mouth and kiliing them...anything is possible it is nature
