You'll need to back it out. The part where the wire meets the probe cannot be submerged. It will eventually fail. I've had two go out like this before I researched the underlying cause. Per Inkbird you've gotta keep that part out of the water. They make a longer probe you can connect up to the controller which makes it easier. That's what I use now and no problems.

Thank you so much for pointing this out! I had one fail 4 months in about 1 month ago and I thought it just went haywire. Now I know the cause.
