Dupont Hytrel is another flexible co-polyester that is high temperature and scores an 'A' when it comes to seawater. Again not a cheap filament.
Thanks for sharing these, even at the high price point there is a ton of parts in the archive list that would perfect for that kind of high quality material. A lot of the more ambitious prints like needlewheel impellers, adapters and other items that are small but put to work and underwater.

Yes, yes it is. Holds 200 corals
Light movers have been around for decades but here you are just moving all 200 of your corals instead, lol. I think it's a great idea, would be really interesting to see how they do and if they are able to benefit from the seriously randomized flow they could get in addition to efficiency of only needing a single light.

I already have had a prototype going for several months. A conservative estimate is that rotating acropora cover the plugs 30-40% faster than the controls on static racks next to them.

I just need someone to sponsor the lighting of this larger experiment.... I’m out of funds

This is my frankenstiened rapman 3.2.

One of the printers that helped start it all!
Yes, I know its ancient, but it prints ABS parts like a champ!

I revived it with an andruino/ramps controller and cartridge heater hotend.

The heated print surface is an 1/8th inch thick solid piece of copper with kaptom tape.

It's been through many moves and much needs to be repaired, but it printed its first successful part just the other day!

When I start making parts for my current build, I'll make sure I share the files :)

Ignore the brown paper on the rack, don’t want to take it off until it’s ready.

That's a good looking frag tank! Did you CNC the plate yourself or get that done with an acrylic fabricator?

Zen Reef custom made it for me- it’s one of their amazing locking racks with the silicon layer in the middle. He loved the idea of this experiment and hooked me up with a sweet price on it.

Awesome! That silicone layer in the middle is an brilliant idea. I know the lights are still in the air so to speak, but if you could just buy some today how would you like to light it?

If I could get anything, I would easily choose two XF30W pros. They would be on an angle aiming towards the center of the tank. It only Ecotech was looking to sponsor MY little CoralLab :D

The way the build play raises and lowers is really interesting. Any idea what your print volume is? It seems pretty large!

Max build size is 8"x8"x10". Bits From Bytes, who originally made the DIY kit, is now 3DS Systems whose one of the top 3D printer companies in the world. Totally sold out and left the DIY'ers like me in the dust.
