All extremely valid points, and yes QT can be a touchy subject. But IMHO it's necessary to get newly acquired fish into QT to eat and recover from all the stress they've been thru without further necessary stress! I have a 2 step approach first into the QT and then I built a large acrylic acclimation box for my DT it sits on the rimmed edge and the middle brace of my 120g. once they've made it to the DT acclimation box other fish can adjust to being with the newly acquired species when it's time I simply open the slide door and out they go. FWIW
