acans only feeding when lights are on

my acans have been in the tank for 2 weeks now. as soon as i trun the lights off for the night the haeds close. not sure why they only feed during the day hope some one can help

Have you checked them a couple hours after the lights are off?

yes they stay closed till i turn light on in the morning and they have grown 3 new heads since i got them

Have you tried introducing food to the tank while the lights are off and they still don't open? Mine are usually open night and day and if they are closed they open up as soon as some food is introduced.

nope havent tryed that will it hurt them only feeding during the day

I feed during the day quite often and have experienced no ill effects.

you shouldnt have to worry about that, it just means they are trained to eat during the day, prolly just makes it a little more convieniant for you.
