Ive held a clam in my frag tank for a friend for about a month under led's and I would not be scared to hold one long term either. Out of curiosity what kinda fixture and tank dimmensions.

I have a Derasa about 7-10" from my LED fixture and they thing is now 4x bigger in 5 months. The color also looks better than when I had it under T5's.

I am the same as nixer I have a large 6 inch gold tear drop maxima under some evolutions and has done perfectly fine. I also have a small 3 in maxima that is up in the tank but i have not seen color change. Oh yeah my tear drop is down on the bottom of the tank. It is been doing great and seems to have bee growing just fine. It has been under these lights for about 6 months or more..

I did the same exact thing when I switched to my leds. I was so worried that my tank was jsut going to fall apart. I kept mine for about 6 months and slowly broke down and parted with my led retrofit. The only problem I sold my other lights to upgrade my leds changed my mind and bought a vortech instead now I have no backs oh well I will need to find some pretty quick here. I do have a spare 400w so maybe that will work. But I do feel leds are the way to go.

I've got four in my 180. Two tuamotu maximas on the bottom an ORA maxima on top of my rockwork and a crocea off to one side. I've got 3 Evolution 120 watters over the tank and everyone is happy as a clam. Ohhh, bad joke!

I don't own a LED fixtture myself but I have seen many tanks with LEDs and all their corals are doing good, I think as long as you have the PAR it should be fine.

i feel the only true way to see a clam in his true beauty is top down. i have even found this with having starphire glass i feel you can't get better feel for the actual color than that awesome top down view. Even with your other corals that top down view beats everything.

I've never had LED's so I can't comment on keeping clams under them, but I do like the way they look from all of the pic's I have seen.
