I have 2 AP9x over my tank as well. I got 2 of the coral cover led strips to supplement on the front and back as well. They are ok, I think I would go with reef brites or blades if I were to do it over. But I agree, i have spots up top where my acros are that get every bit of 500 par, then move slightly outside and it drops to 150-200. I love the AP9x for the power, no shortage of par. I just wish the spread was a bit larger. Unless you wanna mount them 3 feet above the surface of the water, led bars are needed to fill those gaps.
