Am I alone in thinking that RB isn't a black box? I've always thought of a BB is a generic China box.

A lot of folks consider the RB a "black box" - some consider it a "glorified black box" . . .

I consider it a pretty good light at a pretty good price.

~Bruce, who's never used one - I have MarsAquas.

@Luno
That's a very sexy tank you got going on. Do you have a build thread with more information?

It was actually meant for a holding tank while my new big tank gets built but it's become its own tank now. I don't really have a thread of its progress on here but there is on another forum. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention it or not.

For those guys running the evergrow d120 lights, are you getting good coral pop? It says it has Royal Blues in the fixture but all the blues look exactly the same shade and the 420nm moon lights look pink instead of purple. Any ideas guys?

Looking for some advice. Standard 180 g tank 6ft long. Have two evergrow/reefbreeders photon 32 fixtures. These are the 2 channel leds with blues on one and whites and colors on 2nd channel. Looking for assistance on settings for a mixed tank. I would like sps on top and to keep zoas hammers on rocks and chalice favia plates on bottom. I currently have whites peak for 3 hours at 30 and blues peak at 100. White ramp three hours each end and blues a bit longer. I have green slimer and monti cap growing on top rocks and a plate on the bottom. Just added some favia and chalice and have it shaded atm. Do these settings sound ok or should I lower the white. Just afraid to bake the lps on the bottom.

I’m running a marsaqua 165w inside my biocube 29 hood. I swapped out all the warm white red and green leds for more blue and 20k whites then I retrofitted the led board inside my splash guard. So basically it’s about 1/2” off the water surface and has no lenses. I have been running this on my tank for three years now and have had great growth.
