Pretty simple stuff. Mix it with rodi per directions. I let mine sit and settle a little.

Got these 1gal containers at walmart last night. Even have a 1gal indicator on em. This isnt kalk top off. This is alk dose. If that makes any sense. Lol.

I like salifert test kits. Everyone has a prefrence. Elos imo are too complicated, for me at least. Ive heard good things about the red sea test kits but never used one myself.

Looking good! I like that tank, I haven't seen a bowfront bowed that way before lol. I have a nano too, probably similar dimensions as yours, but its 7.5g and no bow. Mine is plumbed into my system though, so I can really appreciate the work you're doing to keep this looking so nice as a standalone.

Thxs. It will b more work to come. Being a nano and all. The bow on the front this way with the bare bottom...really lets the water barrel roll or gives a nice flow imo. Dreadful for cleaning and viewing though :( lol. Backfire!
Ive only cleaned the inside glass once since set up. Just got a small 8" or so scrub brush yesterday for it.

Dosed 8ml of alk on sunday when I made it. Made it that morning. dosed that night I think...
dosed another 1ml yesterday. Coral only got 5hrs of light yesterday. Need a timer.

Thinking of going with a wavepoint t5 retro fit kit. Only thing stopping me is theres no housing for me to rest the fixture on where my current one is.... Anyways. Reef on all!

update time! I tested alk 2 or 3 days ago. 10! good.
lol. good and solid number. I wanted to be betweem 9-11...

ive been dosing 1ml every 2 or 3 days. gonna check it again tonight or tomorrow night hopefully. Not my favorite thing. testing the water.
I'm dumping the idea of fixing up my t5 fixture and I'm dumping the retro fit DIY kit. Another $40 and I can just get a wavepoint with housing.

things needed.
-bulbs
-wavepoint light
-timer (I have)
-take a fish or 2 out
-auto top off
-more fish and coral foods

well...looking at marinedepots new items. I saw a nuvoskim dc skimmer I like.... now, if itll fit? Would b replacing my reef glass that I just got going how I like. Only downside to this lil guy is the air stone replacements seeing how its an airpump driven skimmer.

I will look into better air stones or an air stone I can modify that will last a little longer than the wood ones.
If I get the lil dc skimmer, the heater will go where the bio rings are and the bio rings might go up with the algae scrubber.... I would still have room to run carbon when I want.
Only concern is the weight of the rings and amount...will they all be submerged?

Gonna do a deep cleaning soon. Clean all the back chambers out and equipement. Wc too that day.

need new or more or different kinds of foods. I need to get some rods, spectrapure ? pellets, and some ROE, real ocean eggs by nutria ocrean I think it was... been too long.
I currently make my own from winco mixed seafood bag. Just dethaw some and put it in the chopper work gave me. ADD a lil water and freeze it. RODI would b better now that I think about it. LOL!
thxs all reef on!
