Just to clarify earlier on the amount of time needed to run the machine before calibration. On Neptune’s site it says at least 48 hrs and until you get consistent results for another 24-48 hrs.

My guess is that you dont want an answer to your final question - since its been answered multiple times. That said - this has been touted as 'a solution to dosing alk and ca'. If it has to be sent away to be maintained - thats a problem. If it has to be sent away and then recalibrated for days - weeks thats a huge problem. I'm actually surprised that you haven't read the posts written asking these questions - but now pretend that anyone asking a question is some kind of a fool. By the way the fact that the VP of marketing didnt have the information is not anyone here's problem - its Neptune's problem. They should IMHO have that information. You seem to agree with this - then back pedal. When you respond to a comment saying 'you dont like Neptune' but there are multiple people asking the same question - it might make sense to use the 'quote feature' on the forum so that people know to whom you're speaking - I own a ton of Neptune products - and have complimented them multiple times - I have respectfully asked and gotten excellent answers from @Terence many times. This time IMHO they have royally dropped the ball. No one forced them to release the product until they knew all of the information. My guess (and its a guess) - is that since the video released on the maintenance requirement - they felt the need to rush it - but its a total guess.
Respectfully, I think you are doing far too much guessing. We gave the information we could give at this time, before anyone could buy a Trident, so they could make an educated decision before purchasing. We even gave a pretty good idea of the costs - though not specific. If less than $100 or $150-$200 is too much in two years, then this might not be the product for that person.

The Trident itself is not a solution to dosing Alk and Ca. It is a testing device. If one wants to use the feature of automated dosing control, and does not want to use the advanced replacement option mentioned on the livestream and the FAQ, then they can simply revert to normal DOS dosing for 7-10 days using their last value. No issue at all.

We did not rush anything. This launch date was planned for some time.

Hi, terence any chance that you know how many of these were sent to orlando, fl would love to get one from my local store instead of online. I rather give the sale to them as at the end of the day they are the ones there for you when something goes bad. Thank you for all your hard work.

Yes, I know how many were sent to FL. Our platinum stores in that area did receive Tridents. I have no idea how they have determined how to sell them or if they will have any tomorrow for sale. Sorry. Might be worth hovering around the back door when the staff arrives before official opening ;)

If what am reading is correct that you need to send the unit back every year or 18 months and spend 200$ or DIY 100$ for service is true, i will say as a consumer this product is not for me. Are you kidding me...
Kh guardian sell the parts that need servicing like the dosing tubings for dirt cheap...

These testers are becoming commoditized many are coming to the market and all claim to be better than the earlier ones.

Further more most are test and dose combo instead of test only with trident.

I do not see cost or reliability advantage at this point with the trident even if you already have a new compatible apex and do not need to spend an arm and a leg on an apex upgrade just to have the trident.

Stand alone testers are the safest way to go from reliability and cost stand point in my opinion.
I might be wrong, so will wait and see how this fan out...

I get what your saying but equipment with moving parts requires periodic maintenance. That’s life. The Trident won’t be for everyone, same for other testing devices out. For me, ease of use is important and Neptune’s programming is by far ahead of the rest. The Trident really is easy to setup. I have not incorporated auto dosing thus far but happy with the monitoring aspect at this point.

Yup we saying the same thing. I have khg for 2 years now. Love it. I need to service it every 12 months. Cost is like 10 to 20$ easily DIY and. No need to ship anything back.
My khg test and dose also. So when my apex lock or lose connection to fusion which happened couple of times a year, my dosing is not impacted..
Agreed trident is not for everyone, it's not for me:).
I bet khg is not for everyone either.

Good news for consumer is that many testers are available and many more are coming..

What a shock 3:01 out of stock at BRS, I had put a notify me when in stock months ago and got this
When will it be available?
We hope to start stocking the new Neptune Trident shortly, however it may be a month or two before that happens.
Price: $599.95
What a let down.

I find it laughable that people would complain about service cost on the Trident, and they would go out and spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on corals and not blink an eye. When this device will be protecting their investment on a daily basis.
