Dipping with iodine

Well, I’m guessing I may have put a little bit too much sugar in the cookie dough…

I wanted to do a soft dip with Revive and some iodine. I grabbed lugols, not thinking it would be a big deal. Not having used this before to dip, but have used iodine plenty of times. In about two cups of water I put about 1/3 the dropper in of lugols and about 2 scientific splashes of Revive. 20 minutes after this was in my frag tank… I’m guessing the loguls acted like paint stripper to this poor coral. Man, what a dolt moment.

I’ve never done nor looked into iodine dips, so I can’t advise on concentrations and times. Sorry.

Lugols is very very strong, one drop raises iodine by 0.6ppm in one gallon of water. Follow the dip instructions.

I was out of SeaChem and wasn’t thinking. What’s interesting is I did that acro and a gonnie. The gonnie is acting like it put a pouch of Goodies in a bottle of water after a night in the infield at Talledega. The acro is headed for the bucket of death to complete the circle of life.
