Don't know how I've missed this thread till now, boy you have some nice peices! You Aussie's have such access to nice size acro colonies, very envious. One of your "branches" is a major colony here and can sometimes cost a fortune. We have our pluses here but still not on par with you guys.
Yeah we do, a little harder here on the west coast though as it's so far from the reef.

One think I found funny was how much colour this piece got in quarantine in 4 weeks. This tank has no water changesapart from maybe 8lt which is used to dip corals each week. I don't check parameters at all either. Just dose amino each day and good light
One under t5 in grow out tank looks so super blue it's crazy compared to one in display.

Well my issue with tenuis continues, i thought after a bit of a break i was in the clear but ones i just added started to strip so frustrating. Guess that means no tenuis for me. I found one of my gyre pumps had a bit of rust around where cable enters pump which could be the reason for slightly elevated zinc. Something doesnt seem right with tank atm, colours are off. I need to send off a icp soon to see where my levels are at.

I wonder what the difference in parameters are between the qt and display tank especially the nitrate, phosphate, and alk.

No idea I don't really test water in quarantine, just replace what i use to dip corals. I don't acclimate anything either. P04 and n03 would bè really low as there is no fish in there atm. Nice dino bloom in there atm, need to give it a clean out when i get a chance. Tenuis took about 2 or 3 weeks to strip once added to tank. Alk hasn't been stable as ph probe was out so I started stuffing around with cal rx before checking it. AlK was up to 10 over xmas break. Nothing else affected though just stupid tenuis

The tenuis was fine in the qt? how long was it in there before you added it to the dt?
Yeah never lost anything in quarantine surprisingly, some stuff colours up even with weekly dipping. Had in there 3 weeks before adding to tank. Only 2 of the 3 actually stripped touch wood other last. Fragged a few bits but most stripped. Hopefully one of the last 3 will survive.

So I finally got my new grow out tank in a new weeks ago. Luckily had no casualties but a few bits went a bit poopy and brown out a little. I got a few new fish also. 3 pictilus anthias, copperband, 2 x talbot damsels and 2 x saddleback anthias. Really loving this tank. Display lost alot of colour when I did the swap over too but I also found 1 of my lights lost 15 diodes. Orphek are great but longevity is hit and miss. Other 2 lights also have issues with 1 or diodes gone.

Left hand side of the tank will be predominantly blue light to see what difference light can really make.

Couple bits a fragged up, pretty much fragged most of the corals now so hands out the tank and let them grow. I also glued some in display under high light to what happens
Now have the same coral under different light.

Did my first 10% water change since last year's incident. All went well gladly. Boron was sitting at 8.5 so I want to get it back down to about 6/7. Fixed my led which went out and ticked off a few corals with spectrum change and more par I guess.
