Got the kanaplex meds in finally. Added 3 scoops for the 15 gallons and directions say to wait 48 hours and dose again.

Good to know. Thank you.I can see scales underneath the lesion, so that's a good sign. In very severe bacterial infections, the scales will be destroyed and not visible.
Good to know. Thank you.
Do you have advice on feeding in this situation?
Ok. Thank you again. No - other than to ensure the water quality is good and to avoid the "spectator syndrome", where you get up close to the tank to see if it eats, but that causes the fish to shy away from the food. Try observing from a darkened room, and the remove all uneaten food after 30 minutes or so.
I do not. I have the light on a timer though. It’s pretty dim — it’s a cheap $20 freshwater light I had in the garage. I think the camera is over exposing the tank. It’s nice that she’s eating so well ! Do you turn off the light after she eats ? It seems very bright.

Dont wait for any signs. Your fish is ill as it is. Do a big WC now.The ammonia badge reads under .05ppm to me. Something I can manage with Prime. But the API test is way different—don’t like color measurements. Wish I had the Hanna ammonia checker.
Question:
What signs should I look for if the Fox face is having trouble with the ammonia level?
You got this buddy!I don’t know about anyone else but I’ll get up early like 3-4 am to check on the QT because I worry I’ll wake up and find that my fish perished from ammonia poisoning. Ugh.
The last 10 years I’ve had maybe 4 instances where hospital tanks were necessary. If I could avoid it and do a DT tank treatment I would—the ammonia challenge is always a nail biter for me.
I’ve got two 5 gallon jugs with fresh saltwater sitting under the desk so they’ll be at room temp for a water change tomorrow.
I was hoping, based on sources online, kanaplex might be gentler on the bio filter. And using a pretty hefty bag of aged bio media from the display the qt might support a single tang in a 20 long with only 15 gallons of water.
I increased the flow through the HOB tonight to move more water through the media.
The ammonia looked slightly greenish to me. So I wanted to check with an api ammonia test.
