I always thought Tyree corals were pieces that are proven in captivity. I saw a post on another forum about a chalice going LE that has been in the vendors possession maybe a month...

My thoughts too! If you get a piece in and sending tyree a pic within 2 weeks then tyree says yes, 2 months later it settles and looks like another coral makes no sense! my .02

I remember when it was rare to get the Tyree stamp. Nowadays, that approval seems to go to anyone, regardless of captive success or "rareness"

Like saying - "I've never seen this piece come in before, so buy this one. I've only got three to choose from." LOL

Ok, so this basically says he finds pieces and puts his name on them...and people care about this because???? and "farming"???? that's a complete joke. Let's see this "farm", he's no ORA. I just don't get it, I see better pieces on here every day without his name on them thankfully...

It seems like this thread turned into Tyree bashing thread? Maybe his definition of Farmed is different? He is a member here on R2R. If someone communicated with him on a regular basis maybe they can have him chime in? Sometimes a simple explanation is all that'd needed!

Keep in mind that Tyree runs a business and no matter what type of business it is advertising and hype are the best ways to succeed. What is the term?? Don't hate the playa hate the game!

I'd love to hear Steve's explanation on what makes a coral "Tyree" worthy and how it seems we are in the mother load of all "rare" coral for the past few years.

I posted that from his site because none of these are farmed these are wild specimens brought in tagged and sold.... Where does the aquaculture part come in??? I guess it's okay if 30days in captivity means it aquaculture but it doesn't in my book...

Cherry Corals has never sent a coral to Tyree for "LE status", and I doubt we ever will. I think in then end its who you believe has contact with alot of coral and who can decide something is unique and worth growing and propagating.

Is something rare because you only see it once a year...I guess it all depends on how patient you are.

perhaps they should, but considering those ppl have not stepped in im pretty sure at this point its beyond smoke and mirrors. also i come to find that those ppl also dont backup what they say or sell either.
when you dont live up to the hype you have threads like this about you. which im sure at this point is impacting the business.

your corals dont need an LE stamp. they speak for themselves.

i dunno about once a year (might be some explosion factor there) but it does seem like a great idea. with all the nagging and being asked the same thing like 30 times a day lol
