I'm trying to ID a strange growth left operculum of a new clown i got.
I'm not sure what it is and would love feedback before i go ahead with any treatment.
It came from LFS with a small white bump that kept getting bigger. Both clowns are in an isolation box for observation and feeding. They are both active and feeding well.

Tank system: 35ppt, temp 75.5F/24C, low nutrients, fish fed 2x per day.

The strange growth got bigger and developed some grayish off white color, see video (left side around gills)
10 days ago it was half the size and more white.

Does it look like anything familiar (parasite, lymphocystis, other condition)?
Any help is appreciate.

The color and the way it looks resembles Lymphocystis. Trouble is, clownfish rarely if ever get that viral disease, and then if they do, the lesions are really small not large like this.

Here is an article I recently posted about that:

Thanks for the reply @Jay Hemdal.
Interesting article and might not be that bad to have lympho.
I'll keep observing the fish in the isolation box until the condition is more clear.
Incase its not lympho, what do you think would be the next most likely candidate?
I could get a swab done for DNA sequencing but it would help to know what it could be to be more targeted with the diagnostics.

Cheers

The only other likely candidate would be some sort of neoplasm.

I don't think you can easily sequence for Lymphocystis - what this virus does is cause the fish's skin cells to become giant-sized. Most of the DNA would then just be from the fish itself. If they have the sequence for Lymphocystis in their catalog, they might be able to identify it.
