Hammer dying or splitting?

I have had this hammer about a month and it’s been doing well it’s got a bubble in the middle which I assumed meant it was going to split but now some of the tentacles in the middle are retracted quite a bit sorry for the pic did the best I could with lighting

Looks happy enough. When mine devide you see the two faces of the polyp heading in different directions creating a sort of domed top before they actually devide. If that's what you mean by "bubble" then it's likely starting. Obviously this takes awhile as the skeleton forms.

Yea that’s what I meant by bubble it’s dome shaped almost see through. Here is another little better pic of the dome

splitting - mine did the same thing just two weeks ago.
 
Yea that’s what I figured but it does look kind of off it almost looks like it is going to split in 3 different ways at the same time if that’s possible.
