Bought a healthy looking torch from LFS 5 days ago.

I temp acclimated, drip acclimated and dipped the coral and others, including another euphyllia, a hammer. Hammer is gorgeous.

Temperature in the bag may have risen a bit on the way home. I’m in Phoenix, temp was 115. I did put coral in cooler and cranked the AC.

Water parameters need to be checked, but salinity is 1.026, temp 77.9. I have testing kits for alkalinity and Phosphate. I can check.

The torch came home and has not opened. I saw some brown substance discharge from the coral yesterday. Today, some of the coral tentacles are covered with some fuzzy white substance.

Coral is resting in a low flow low light environment.

I run carbon/gfo, skimmer and 20% weekly water changes. No dosing.

Anyone think brown jelly?

Thanks in advance

Looks like it. I would cut the head to save The rest. I failed to do that and lost half my colony.

Agreed. Something doesnt look right with that head. May just try to do it. See what happens. The other euphyllia are far away thank goodness. Hope the brown jelly doesnt go to the rest.

Will call the lfs and see what they think I should do, hoping for some credit if I lose the colony.

Can you pull the coral and sniff? If it smells like death I’d just get rid of the dying heads, frag em off, whether or not it’s BJD. I’ve lost Torches and other Euphyllia so fast in the past I don’t mess around anymore.

Sure can. I loosely glued to the rock. Thanks for the confidence that inaction will lose the day. I should at least cut the affected head.
