true, but when you have a 50 gallon cube with your largest fish being a flame angel..

do they custom make those things? i feel like i'd pay $100 and then my powerhead cords would have nowhere to go

I’m officially cleaning my gyres for the first time. Currently marinading in a 1:5 white vinegar:warm tap water solution in a Lowe’s 5g bucket. Hopefully they are good as new after! I’ve been noticing I was losing flow, it seemed like it was time.

I don’t know much about the lids, but I do like the Octo lids too. I just bought a little stand to keep my bio lid open from them. Such a practical idea.

Well my whole fixture is 11 inches off the water. So I could lower the fixture. Except I’m getting 130 par on the sandbed which is perfect for my lps, and my lps are growing great and have nice color.
It’s the top half of the tank I need to increase for my acros. My t5 bulbs are blue + and actinic. Im thinking since actinic only puts out about 40 par on its own halfway down; it may be worth looking into running blue + & coral + or blue + & ab special. Both those have much higher par than actinic. It’s a shame I’m sending to par meter out today before I see numbers from the bulb change, but I have some confidence that it should get me into the high 200’s low 300’s in the top half of the 90.

Just my opinion, AB special are a really harsh tube, I would go coral plus.

IME it is like bright white, my corals hated it, probably gives good par though!
